New Stories Coming Soon

I haven't published a story in a few months, but I having been working on some new ideas. Look for two new titles in February. One will be a princess type story and the other will be an animal book. Also, look for another Einstein book soon (probably March). I love writing for all my readers and I hope that you will enjoy reading them as much as I've enjoyed writing them.

Never Give Up

Life is full of hard knocks. We all know this and our children are learning this all too quickly.

Instead of teaching our children that life is not fair, I believe we should teach them that life is what we make it. We should encourage them to reach for the stars, while simultaneously teaching that that it's okay to fail from time to time. The real lesson should be that we shouldn't give up on our goals just because they aren't easy to attain. We should continue to move towards those goals until we have accomplished what we set out to accomplish.

Another thing I believe is important to teach our children is that it's okay for dreams and goals to change. Maybe once we got close to or actually achieved a goal, it wasn't exactly what we thought it would be. In that case, it's okay to alter those dreams --- to reach for new and brighter stars.

To sum it up, if we aren't dreaming, we aren't living. However, our dreams are our own, subject to changing with us as we grow and learn.

Happy Reading :)

Take the next generation HIGHER!!!

As we grow older, we cross paths with so many people, many of whom have children. And the one thing I hear more than anything else is how smart these children are. Not too long ago, I was having a conversation about a friend's little girl being so intelligent. I came to the realization that our children should be smart. They should be smarter than we were at there age. We should be able to hold OUR children to HIGHER standards than our parents held us.
Children soak in so much information the fist 6 years of their lives. We should spend that time instilling in them the drive to be better each day than the day before. We need to look for ways that our children can improve themselves but yet enjoy what life has to offer.

"We should instill in our children a love for life and a sense of humor when that love fails." --- RR

Today's Inspiration

"A Child allowed to read for fun will find the fun in learning to read."  --- RR

Engage a Child's mind

The minds of children are so amazing. They have not been warped by the world. They are pure, honest, creative, and absolutely AMAZING!

When we read to children, we encourage them to keep dreaming, believing, and imagining. We tell them of worlds they may never see. Whether reading a colorful picture book with few words or a classic fairytale, engage your children's minds -- Open them up and maybe, just maybe you'll find a piece of the child you once were still exists! :)

Teach a child to read

Reading has always been such an important part of my life. The thousands of book I have read have taken me places I will never be able to travel, envoked feelings that I will never experience in real life, and presented new thoughts I never would have had on my own.

It is so important to instill a love of reading in our children. They are the next generation. We need them to be smarter than we are. We need them to think outside the box. And all of this can start with simply taking the time to encourage reading.

Because reading allows you to experience worlds that are not your own, it boosts a person's willingness to move beyond their own little bubble to experience life for themselves and to form their own thoughts and feelings.

All of this can begin with a simple children's book.

Whether it's Mother Goose, Dr. Seuss
or Aesop's Fables that clutter your tables,
a child who's encouraged to read
will experience life indeed.

Why I write...

I am a writer at heart. My thoughts often come in the form of rhymes. It's a little quirky, I know! :)
For years, I have been encouraged to write children's books. Every time someone would bring it up, I would reply, "that's not for me." --- My first children's book (and my first published book) was a result of an "If they can do that, so can I" thought process.

I wrote a little rhyme and presto -- It's a book! :) Encouraged by this, I wrote a couple more...and then a couple more. I have been amazed at how much fun I've had. I get so tickled by my little rhymes. Feeling a little silly, I confessed this to my best friend. She said, "It's a children's book. If you aren't getting tickled, you are probably in the wrong profession."

So, as long as it's fun and I continue to tickle myself, you will continue to see Renae Rae books! :)
